Tourism Guidance Course
🎯 General Course Objectives
- Enable trainees to understand the essence of tourism guidance and the role of the guide as an ambassador of national identity.
- Develop storytelling and human interaction skills with visitors.
- Provide trainees with the ability to design professional tours and distinctive experiences.
- Instilling professional and behavioral values that promote a positive image of the Kingdom.
- Prepare guides who are able to deliver a sophisticated and impactful tourism experience.
📅 Detailed Training Plan
🗓 Day One: The concept of tourist guiding and the role of the professional guide
axes:
- Define tourism guidance and its importance in the development of national tourism.
- The role of the guide in shaping the first impression of the Kingdom.
- The qualities of a good mentor (knowledge, behavior, appearance, confidence).
- The professional and ethical values of the counselor.
- Saudi identity in counseling (hospitality – authenticity – openness).
Activities:
- Interactive workshop: “How do I present myself in front of a group of tourists?”
- Practical exercise: Identify each mentee’s personal strengths as a mentor.
🗓 Day Two: Communication and Storytelling Skills

- The art of turning information into a compelling story.
- Effective communication tools (voice, body language, gaze).
- Building the story of the tour: Intro – Climax – Conclusion.
- Engage visitors in the story and create an emotional connection with them.
- Use emotive phrases and mental imagery in conversation.

- Group assessment of delivery style and tone of voice.
🗓 Day Three: Tour Design and Group Management

- Group discussion: “How do we make the tour an unforgettable experience?”
🗓 Day Four: Cultural Knowledge and Tourism Protocol

- Dealing with visitors from different cultural backgrounds.
- Escort etiquette for official delegations and VIPs.
- The art of being tactful in sensitive situations.
- Adhere to the appropriate professional dress code and appearance.

- Discuss real-life cases encountered by counselors in the field.
🗓 Day Five: Excellence in Tourism Experience and Final Evaluation
